A rights holder can ask MacTorent to take down a listing. Notices go to one address and are answered within five working days.

Where to send it

Email [email protected]. A notice sent to the general contact address is not the takedown queue.

What to include

  • The URL of the MacTorent page you want removed. One notice can list more than one URL.
  • The work you own, named clearly enough that we can match it to that page.
  • Proof that you are the owner or that the owner authorized you to send the notice. A registration number, a publisher letter, or a link to the official work is enough when it identifies you.
  • Your name and an email address where we can reply.
  • A statement that you believe the listing is not authorized, and that the notice is accurate.

A message that has no page URL, or no sign of who owns the work, does not give us enough to remove a listing.

What happens next

We answer within five working days. When the notice is complete, the listing comes down: the page no longer offers the torrent file. We reply to the address you gave.

Questions about a wrong version or a comment are not takedown notices. Those go to [email protected] on the contact page.
